This is the ideal alarm clock for people like me who find it really hard to get up in the mornings especially winter mornings. I have had it for a year now. It gently wakes you up, so you feel alert and not sleepy when you finally awake.
I was so fed up of my teenager being bad tempered and always running late I have just bought one for her. She has only used it a few days, but said it is great and doesn't feel moody when she wakes, and now has time to spare in the morning.
You choose the light brightness 0 - 20, and the sound you want to wake up to, FM radio, 3 x nature sounds, alarm beep.
I can't praise it enough.

My husband bought me this last October as I have suffered depression for years which is made much worse by the lack of daylight in the winter, I have really bad episodes in October and November and again late Jan to Feb.
It is the best ever present, during the winter I now wake up ready to face the day - if not quite raring to go! And felt so much better, it was worth every penny. I would thouroughly recommend this to anyone who suffers from S.A.D. or lack of get up and go on the winter mornings.

This clock is brilliant, I use it every weekday morning and the gentle increase in light has us both awake before the need for any sounds. You wake up feeling a lot fresher and your eyes aren't as sore than regular wake up methods.

I find it quite strange how people seem to be complaining about replacement bulbs not being available - BUY SOME THEM FROM AMAZON - there are loads available. 'It takes two hands to operate' and 'the buttons are clunky' are also really daft comments - it's not an ipod!

If you want something that magically decides how to set itself with a silky smooth interface than this is not for you. If you are happy pressing buttons every once in a while and accept that many things require two hands to operate then buy one now and wake up feeling as fresh as a daisy.

I have to get up whilst it is still dark in the morning. I have had a Lumie alarm - which was rubbish compared to this. I think the gentle wake up is great and it is a doddle to use. I can't agree it is a pain to turn off at weekend, as you don't have to remember to reset it during the week. It isn't like daylight but it is an easier way to wake up and it is much better made than others.
